FIFA eClub World Cup: WickyBG & Poacher
The most prestigious tournament in FIFA eSports is knocking on the door and Team Sampi is registered for online qualifiers. We will be represented by Stanislav “WickyBG” Chakarov and Sam “Poacher” Carmody. Since the launch in 2017, the eClub World Cup has featured the world’s best real-world football clubs and endemic eSports teams in EA SPORTS FIFA and will see all teams eligible for the tournament take part in a brand new six-week online qualification process that has been introduced for the 2020 edition.
This year’s online qualification will divide all registered and approved teams into multi-tiered qualification stages based on their performance in previous eClub World Cups. Two players – WickyBG on PlayStation 4 and Poacher on Xbox – are nominated by Team Sampi and will be able to compete in a round-robin league online qualification. Each match-up of the online qualifiers consists of two games, one Xbox game and one PlayStation game. The score of each game will count individually.
The best teams per tier will be promoted until they reach the top tier and only the 24 top-ranked teams will qualify for the eClub World Cup in February 2020, representing their club and compete against their rivals on the world’s biggest stage for competitive EA SPORTS FIFA teams.
In order to qualify, teams have to reach the first tier and be among the top 24 teams to get their invitation to the FIFA eClub World Cup 2020. Depending on the number of registered teams, a certain number of teams will either maintain, get promoted or demoted based on their game results in the online qualification.
