Saturday 15th of December our players Erik ‘’Eki’’ Tammenpää and Arttu ‘’Artuzio’’ Mustlia will travel to Helsinki, Finland to play IS Cup 3. The cup gathers the 16 best NHL gamers from Finland, and they will battle it out for 8 000€. Will Team Sampi end a successful 2018 with a title in NHL as well?
Finnish Championship
Finland has some of the best NHL gamers in the world, and this weekend they will fight for the right to call themselves the best finnish NHL gamer. Some of the best players in the world will attend to this event, like the defending Finnish champion Juho ‘’eskoeinari’’ Sillantaus, the defending IS Cup champion Hannes ‘’Hansulinho’’ Kettunen, and the winner of the latest KSC Cup, Paul ‘’Pleemaker’’ Arontie. Our player Eki has attended to both previous editions of IS Cup, 2nd at IS Cup 1 and 3rd-4th at IS Cup 2. Artuzio attended to IS Cup 1, where he placed outside of the podium.
The last step on the podium
Since September, Team Sampi has had success with their players, gaining victories in Rocket League and TrackMania. Our NHL gamers Eki and Artuzio has also collected three podium places in the two events they have attended to as solo players. Eki with two 2nd places at the KSC cups, and Artuzio with one 3rd place at the first KSC cup. Is it time to take that last missing place on the podium, and end 2018 with a win in the biggest finnish tournament? Let’s see what our players have to say.
Erik ‘’Eki’ Tammenpaa after winning NHL World Gaming Championship in Las Vegas
Statement from Erik ‘’Eki’’ Tammenpää:
I’m very excited for the IS cup / Finnish championships, there are basically going to be the best players in the world and I have to play the best I’ve played in order to win. I’m playing NHL full time now so my motivation won’t change regardless of how I do in the tournaments, I will work my ass off and try to improve all the time. This year there has been 3 LAN tournaments, two KSC cups where I have both times been In 2nd place, and the 6v6 IS cup/Finnish Championship where our team finished 1st. I have never won a Finnish Championship in 1v1 so that of course is my goal next weekend
Statement from Arttu ‘’Artuzio’’ Mustlia:
My goal is the win the whole thing of course! Pleemaker is on fire at the moment so I was forced to change my game plan because of his offensive gamestyle… During the week I’ve practised a lot with a new game plan. So my strategies functioning is my biggest challenge for now.
So it’s safe to say that the year will end with a banger of an event for the NHL gamers, and it’s left to see if our players will raise the trophy and claim the title Finnish champion.
