Team Sampi welcomes Dota 2

18. March 2020

After Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends Team Sampi presents a new section to represent us in Dota 2.

Jonáš “SabeRLight” Volek, Ondřej “Supream” Štarha, Petr “muf” Fojtík and Jan “sehny” Sehnal played together in team Hippomaniacs and accomplished a lot. They’ve won Brewmaster’s Cup, World Cyber Games 2019 Europe Finals, and JoinDota League S16. Together they attended Dota Summit in Los Angeles and fought in China in qualification for The International. Even though they didn’t make it, they still got a nice third place.

Pavel “Mambos” Beneš will join the team. He represented the Czech Republic with team Inaequalis in IeSF World Championship 2019 in South Korea.

This line-up, originally named gejmři, has won qualification to Sazka eLeague. Team’s captain, SabeRLight, is currently the most successful Czech player in Dota 2, and after his departure with Hippomaniacs, several teams were interested in him. He commented on entering Sampi as follows:

“As a captain of the best CZ/SK stack in Sazka League, I would like to announce our transfer to, in our opinion the best organization in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Sampi. As a very successful player who drank with Sumail, turned down Dendi, and almost won Beyond the Summit minor, I only want the best. So we decided to represent Sampi in this league. Our roster is SabeRLighT-, Supream, Mambos, Sehny, and Muf. All these players are either legends of the Czech scene or young talents who have a successful career ahead. We even qualified with this stack for The International, so be sure Sazka eLeague will be like a walk in the park for us.”
